The latest version of The Beatles: Rock Band music video game was launched on 9th September 2009.

The games allows the players to relive some of the Beatles gigs, playing with a console (a plastic guitar with buttons), which allows you to master the tunes (gaining points as you go along), and experiencing the atmosphere of the time (screaming girls for the live gigs, beatlemania and psychedelic graphics for the studio performances).

The game allows up to 6 players to perform the songs at a time - it comes with a lead guitar control, a bass guitar control, a drum control, and three microphones.

You can select different "modes" for play - the story mode is the most popular and allows you to pick out venues from the Beatles history - the Cavern Club in the early 60's, to Abbey Road Studios where they recorded their albums to performances at the Ed Sullivan theatre and the Shea Stadium.

Remember to choose the correct version of the game for your console. The software for the Wii is the cheapest.

There are three versions of the Beatles Rock Band video game - the beatles rock band xbox 360, beatles rock band ps3 and beatles rock band wii, to meet the specs of the Playstation 3, XBox 360 and Nintendo Wii consoles.

If you haven't got a console, you will need to get one before you get the game. Choose the console depending on what other types of games you think you will end up playing. eg if you have children who like to play group games, the Wii is the best option.

There are additional songs that can be downloaded, but some of their most famous songs, such as "Let it Be", "Yesterday", "Obla Di Obla Da" and "Help" are not listed at all, mainly because they weren't performed in the concerts that the game is simulating.
